If you’re worried about your child’s crooked teeth, or unsure if their jaw is developing well, a consultation with one of our orthodontic practitioners can give you the right answers. What age should my child have their first consultation?

For most children, we recommend an initial consultation around 7 to 9 years of age. This can vary and sometimes in severe cases we may recommend earlier intervention. Often your general dentist can refer the child to our orthodontic team and we can then make an assessment.

An early consultation allows us to intervene if necessary if their jaws are not developing correctly. However most children will undergo orthodontic treatment between 10 to 14 years of age.

What treatment options are available for children?

After careful assessment with our orthodontic team, we will provide a range of treatment option which includes

Growth appliances

Sometimes used to help develop your child’s jaw, often prior to braces or aligners

Traditional Braces

Braces allow efficient movement of your child’s teeth without having to worry about whether they are wearing their aligners or not.

Clear aligners

An option for teenages, aligners can be used instead of traditional braces providing a more aesthetic solution

All treatment carries risks. Individual consultations are required with one of our practitioners to ensure that the treatment is right for you. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

We believe in making our treatment as affordable as possible which is why we offer interest free payments over two years for our orthodontic options. What are the costs?

We know how important your child’s smile is and its why we strive to make treatment affordable to all families. We offer 24 month interest free payment plans with treatment starting from $72 a week. Before treatment commences a full quote will be provided as costs of orthodontic treatment varies depending on length of treatment and complexity of the case.
