Dental Implants
What are
Dental Implants?
Your New Smile
How do Dental Implants Work?
With dental implants, a new specially designed tooth or crown sits on top of a titanium dental implant to restore both the function of your teeth but also match or create a beautiful smile. With the latest revolutionary technology, our specialist surgeon places your new implants with the aid of a digitally designed surgical guide to ensure maximum comfort and healing. The procedure is normally performed in our clinics under either local anaesthetic or I.V sedation, with all steps performed in-house in our large purpose built facilities.

The process
1
Consultation
In this initial consultation we will do an initial assessment of your teeth and jaw bone. We will also likely take 3D xrays and digital intraoral scans.
If you still have the existing tooth that needs to be replaced by an implant, you may have to undergo a healing period before an implant is placed.
2
Placing the implants
Based on our comprehensive records, we will have constructed a precise surgical guide that allows the implants to be performed guided.
At this appointment we place the implants and let it heal for a 3 month healing period.
During this period the implant remains underneath your gums and you can generally function as normal.
3
Final Implant Crown
The final step is to make your final implant crown.. After the healing period the surgeon would have ‘uncovered’ the implant. Your dentist now takes a new 3D intraoral scan and a new white crown is designed and made, matching your existing smile and bite.
